Our first Dude Soup of 2016 (TWENTYSIXTEEN!) gets things started off right with a good ol' controversy. The AssCreed franchise may not be putting out a new game this year - do you want one Does anyone care Would it be any good I dunno, I just write the descriptions here.

I feel like I'm the only one that doesn't like Assassin's Creed skipping a year. More of a game series is never bad, it just doesn't make sense to me when people complain about having too many games. Sure Unity had problems but it wasn't unplayable and it was pretty fun. Also Syndicate was amazing, so it's clear they can do a good job in the current dev cycle. I honestly hope this rumor is false and there will me another one this year.

The setting is one that a dev or someone from Ubisoft said would be terrible for Assassin's Creed, so I'm inclined to doubt it.

I'm glad Lawrence brings up Aiden Pierce being just kind of a bad person. I liked feeling like a 'hero' in a setting where his actions were clearly selfish and did far more harm than the sterotypical vigilante. I used to describe him as a hobo batman with less morals.

Games that came back and sucked (In others' opinions) :

Star Wars: Battlefront (2005-2015) (Although it was constantly in development for 10 years)

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 (2004) to Star Wars: The Old Republic (2011)

Halo: Reach (2010) to 4 (2012) (I loved Halo 4's campaign but most hated it because of multiplayer)

    Duke Nukem. Nuff said.

    Doom/Doom 3

    Final Fantasy 13

Final Fantasy 14 (14-1, not A Realm Reborn)

It's interesting how when you guys were naming elements when talking about From Dust, the joke turned to Captain Planet, but I'm sure I'm not the only person who thought of Avatar. Generational thing, I guess. U guyz r old. avatars the new kool kids thing!!!!

The first thing that came to mind when they were talking about companies leaving a game and coming back terribly was Duke Nukem

One of my favourite things about Funhaus is they aren't afraid to criticise popular games, whereas the rest of Roosterteeth can be a bit of a circlejerk sometimes. What Lawrence said about the minimap being full of icons but nothing actually feeling meaningful is exactly how Assassin's Creed and Far Cry games have felt to me for a long time, even going back to AC2.

I wouldn't say Rooster Teeth is afraid of criticizing games, I feel in general they're more accepting and will just be like "didn't like that.. that's okay, i liked some other things" where Funhaus has a bit of a mindset to never settle for "okay". That said, I have seen Rooster Teeth criticize popular games, though certainly not as often as Funhaus and not as in depth. But isn't that one of the things we love Funhaus for?

Looking at them all together, and ignoring ages, Spool looks like he could be James and Elyse's offspring.
