Am I the only person who noticed The Enchantress taking a break from her pee-pee dance to kick Harley right in the cunt in the end fight scene?

DC just made Geoff Johns the head of the DCCU recently

he is the Marvel's version of Kevin Feige....and will most likely find the key to success that Marvel found

There is something to look forward with the DCCU

with Geoff Johns taking over the Cinematic Universe, the movies will get better

he and Ben Affleck are the only ones working on the script for the Batman movie...Geoff Johns is a genius and super creative person and Ben Affleck loves his role as batman and is also incredibly accomplished, I think that Batman film will be one of the greatest superhero movies ever made

It's a bad movie, no doubt

but it was enjoyable...and is that not the most important part of a movie?

I had a really really fucked up dream about suicide squad last night. I was in the cast as just a totally normal bystanderd. At one point we where in hell and everyone was being toutured, even harlequin. Twords the end of the dream we had to unlock a key pad to save all our lives the code was 5555. Everyone escaped in a giant metal box. Yet harlequin was still in hell being tortured becuse she like it. By the way the torture was removing our skin as well as toungs, and replacein it with pony beads. :( to many stress dreams back to back.

I really appreciate the honest opinions shared here on Dude Soup despite the comments that will swear up and down that you're stupid or wrong. Thank you for not simply pandering and having your own opinions and being open minded to things being either good or bad, even when it's something you usually really enjoy. W a k e U p S h e e p l e

The band that was on before Panic was Andrew McMahon and the Wilderness (I went to the concert when they were in Houston (I was there for Panic, but I was thoroughly entertained by Weezer & Andrew McMahon)). I listened to their album the next day, and it's actually quite good. They have a song called Cecilia and the Satellite which I've heard on the radio a few times. Y'all should check them out!!

Do they realize when they brought up Angels & Airwaves, they connected the conversation back to Suicide Squad because some of the members of 30 Seconds to Mars (Jared Leto) were in Angels & Airwaves... btw this is the first comment I have ever made on any internet posted video. I feel... nothing...

I'm thinking DC had to know after the backlash over BvS that this was going to happen with Suicide Squad. I'm more hopeful for future projects now that Geoff Johns' role seem to have some actual teeth to it and he can impact movies from the ground up, because Marvel has people running the show that actually understand their characters in guys like Kevin Fiege. Given the changes just in the TV landscape (like Superman being allowed to be shown on Supergirl, something previously banned, even on freakin' Smallville) signals a big change on WB/DC's front, but unfortunately for Suicide Squad it was basically already in the can when those changes happened.

Gotta say though, Suicide Squad really set up Amanda Waller well, and if you read into things, maybe even set up Project: Beyond if they want to go that route eventually, i.e, Waller contacting Batman, establishing she knows him, to capture Deadshot.

My biggest problem with fanservice (specifically anything self-referential so dedicated fans can say "I know what that is!") is that it's often done at the expense of the film/series. For example, I enjoyed the Ghostbusters a lot but some of the references to the originals felt like they were put in out of obligation and didn't quite fit the rest of the movie. In Ghostbusters it really doesn't matter but Marvel and DC spend so much time attempting to build elaborate universes that I don't think they have the time to squeeze in any clever references to itself. I know that Suicide Squad's quality doesn't hinge on Harley Quinn holding her original costume, but I'd love to see versions of both the Marvel and DC cinematic universes that are more concerned with creating something new than referencing what's already been done.

Y'all spent a great deal of time complaining about a movie that in all honesty wasn't even that bad. I'll admit it wasn't an amazing film, and on the whole I'd say it was okay, but even then I was still able to enjoy it unironicly

I saw Suicide Squad. Kinda wish I didn't, 'cause now I've effectively given the studio the impression that I want more of what that film was. What a mess. A boring hodge-podge of DC universe references and worldbuilding that somehow misses the spirit of its parts. And is so full of "why did this happen" that I gave up picking out all the dumb by the climax.

Harley Quinn was well-performed, at least. And Will Smith as himself makes a solid Deadshot. Jared Leto's Joker kinda fell flat for me, but I could see it becoming its own thing that's interesting to watch, with future installments. Except I don't intend to view future installments, because at this point I just don't think the DCCU is for me. I get more enjoyment out of hearing people argue about the quality of the DCCU than I do watching its films in the theater. Gotta vote with my wallet.

I completely agree, it's not as bad as everyone is making it out to be ... but it is definitely not a good movie. It was entertaining though, at least for me. Margot was the best part of the movie, Harley was pretty funny. [She even felt like the main character to me.]

Movie itself was kinda crap. The script was ass and it went from 0 to 'theres a witch that wants to take over the world' in like 2 seconds, and was ultimately predictable. But overall, the characters were generally fun to watch, and turning down enough to expect it to be not an outstanding movie, its quite enjoyable.

They are really stock up about movies. It's honestly kind of silly to listen to them talk about this stuff.
