    To answer your Thoughtable Lawrence,

Fuck. Yes. The way it sounds like is that it would be a performance art of a sort, to try to actively be an asshole that gets beat up on. I don't see it as being much different as being a Heel in wrestling before Youtube or the Internet were even an incredibly popular and easy to use thing, except it would be a twist on what that's like to our society now. So instead of being something like The Atomic Hades, I'm now Bryce Hardwick, who has shitty opinions and gets fucked up for having them.

games saying they're early-access is like all these hardcore bands releasing "demos" that are like 12 songs long with production that's not half bad and album artwork. I think these people aren't proud enough of their production so they call it a demo or early access or whatever

Just one quick thing I wanna point out regarding the micro-transactions in PUBG. People aren't mad just because they exist. Well they are mad at their existence, technically, but the reason they are upset about it is that the developers specifically said that they would not sell micro-transactions until the game was out of Early Access. I understand why they changed their minds, you don't wanna not cash in on 10 million people who love yours games, it's a missed business opportunity, but I do understand why people are upset about it. What I personally find stupid is that they are trying to make it an esport in its current flawed state.

I loved hearing the game audio running in the background of this podcast. Playing what sounded like more classical music, just low enough to not drown out you guys talking, and loud enough to enjoy with the conversations. It reminds me of The Science! Also, this game looks like it would be fun on the Switch.

Quick comment on the BundleGate, because everything is a gate now. I got my Switch in a bundle, and in truth everything I got in the bundle I would have bought for it anyway, so it was easier to bundle. With that being said, I spent about $60 more for the bundle then if I bought them separate. I have yet to find a single Switch in stock so I was willing to spend the extra money to get it then to wait any longer. I waited to get the thing for a bout 4 or 5 months after it's release.

I have always played games with a support style to it. Overwatch and PUBG aren't the first games to have a style where kills aren't the main way to score, there have been many other games that have had that. Halo was probably one of the first games that really began to shine for players supporting each other with their Vehicles in the game. When I Halo Reach was in it's prime, we would set up custom games with a full team, this one guy would only choose people based on their KDR and that is it. I never had a high KDR because I would drive the Vehicle, if the opponent dies while I'm shooting at him but someone else got the kill, I still counted that as a kill foe me as well. When the match was over, I had died all of 3 times with 4 kills and my gunner got about 25+ kills. In more recent games such as Battlefield 1, Overwatch and others, I will always pick classes that support my team most.

In terms of games with unfair advantage due to weapon mods, again Halo was one that gave everyone the same gear and let them loose on each other. In Reach when they introduced the equivalent of classes, each one had another class that would counter it. Halo is only one example, only I can think of off the top of my head. I never played online until I was 19, in 2010, because i couldn't afford an Xbox.  Anyway that's my 2 cents.

Capitalism in video games: everyone plays the same 5 games (some probably not even finished) while talking about how great it is that there are so many games while nobody plays those games and everyone hates everything.

To me, PUBG is more like a game of chess in that you have to stay ahead of your opposition and position yourself well to win. Where games like Overwatch are really fast and death is insignificant as you just respawn, PUBG gives people another option and it's obviously an option that people enjoy as many are playing it. It's the suspense learning to make the most out of the one life you have that I personally enjoy, as well as the aforementioned chess like strategic game play. Whether you live or die can hang on your decision to stop your vehicle and fight or keep driving. To charge a room or sneak around to position yourself well to ambush.

"Early Access" becomes complicated to me on one hand it allows people to get a game for 20-30 dollars that will likely eventually be fully released and cost more but I also remember doing closed beta testing for League of Legends which was free(admittedly f2p game). So now devs get to charge people for the ability to test their games(which may or may not ever come out or may come out as f2p) and to literally do work for them that they would otherwise have to do but players can get maybe a discount on a game and they get to play ahead of time and enjoy it assuming it isnt buggy garbage. Overall devs are kinda getting the better deal out of it but hopefully it gets some games made that wouldnt otherwise have been made

Arma 2 Battle Royal, Arma 3 Battle Royal and h1z1 King of the Kill all made by player unknown, Brendan Greene made a great game not only bc hes a great developer, but also bc he had all this experience under his belt. Not only that, but like you guys said at one point he was apart of the community who wanted to mod a shit game and make it fun, he knows how to fix mistakes made by himself and the other shitty games that he modded in the past. Talented and smart guy

I used to work for Gamestation a games retailer here in the UK, a big reason for retailers selling bundles (other than desperately trying to shift unsold stock like you stated) is because new hardware makes the lowest margin out of anything sold in store. What retailers like Gamestop would love to be able to do is bundle new hardware with preowned games but manufacturers would never allow that to happen (at least when I was working in games retail some 10+ years ago)

Thank you for mentioning the margins.  Hardware margins can be so low that the retailer ultimately loses money carrying and selling systems.  Bundling them with higher-margin accessories and software is sometimes the retailer's only way to make those transactions profitable.  Including older, slow-selling inventory is just an easy way to build a bundle -- you've already got that stuff readily available.

im actually surprised people are -ing this. arma 2 dayz mod was actually alot of fun. it felt way more complete then what i ever felt playing the standalone. Not only that but it didnt take them 5 years to finish the damn mod.

I don't really know why. I haven't followed the standalone in probably 2 years. I gave up hope on it when they couldn't get physics implemented and I just checked the police station stairs still can kill you after nearly 4 years.
