    During the first defense on Eichenwalde, you couldve easily called out the pharah Bruce. When its the beginning of a fight, you have 5 teammates ahead of you so there is zero reason to have to look at the main gateway with the rest of the team. Be looking for flankers.

    Still the same problems Adam. First match they have a pharah, you switch to pharah, and then complain that there's no hitscan on your team. Saying that you have all golds does not mean the two randos were playing bad. Being DPS the whole match you should have all golds, which you were, while also not switching to hitscan when your team needed it against the pharah.

    On Anunbis offense, you needed a second healer and James went dps. Especially on a map like that with a junk on the other team, you're going to need a second healer to help your dps.

    On defense I have no idea why Bruce went sym. Not having good dps won't be fixed by a sym. And then when they took the point.... James you were literally looking right at the reaper before he dropped down with blossom. That was a very easy call out, then Adam hooks him, you ult, and end their push.

    The communication is still just everyone yelling things that most of the time don't matter and no one listening. I get that this was all in one sitting, but yall gotta realize yall are the majority of the team and if you're losing it's because of you, which on most of these rounds it was yall.

    I know very little about Overwatch, but I try to follow this series anyway. There are a lot of of things that I only half-get, I don't know the characters' ults for example, but I like the 'puzzles' that you are trying to figure out, like Lawrence with the spawn thing. Having 2 other real players there would make that more fun for me. Just a noob's insight.

    Can you guys please find 2 more people from FH, RT, AH, or any of the other like 4 companies that you work with to play some competitive with? Even if it's over the internet and the only voice you get for them is via skype or whatever, it would be better than you guys continually losing because you can't coordinate with 1/3 of your team.

      Oh my god seriously. They are mad, but they really need to fill those last two slots. I couldnt imagine playing comp with 4 people and hoping for the best on the last two. The ultimate plus would be if they get the 2 other slots filled and they still lose its on them, but I honestly think they would do better!!

    Symm isn't viable on defense when you don't know how to play her. It's not incredibly smart to place all your turrets in one spot, in areas where people aren't walking through because it'll take a hell of a lot longer to gain ult charge when your goal is to get TP or SG up asap. You should always set turrets up in entrances, then when they are destroyed you move them to all around your point/TP or SG.

    Not trying to be that person, but as a Symm main it hurts me to see her doing nothing when she can be incredibly useful in Defense and especially on Anubis!

    Lawrence is 100% right about grouping up and that is a responsibility of everyone on the team. Also Rein is situational and probably shouldn't be picked on every map.

    One of the biggest problems I see is not pushing forward hard enough, there's too much standing around which causes people to slowly get picked off.

    Lawrence should always be pushing forward but seems like he needs confirmation from his team first which slows things down. He actually did his job pretty well, although he could have stopped that Rein charge into their bastion on that last point.

    Hopefully they pay attention to the killfeed more and know when to back out or just jump off the map when necessary.

I liked how you picked to play whatever you want on the Eichenwalde map, it's good to see some variation and that you play characters you want to play but maybe can't because you're focused on winning.

    Heres some advice to keep in mind for large scale problems I've noticed with your play:

    1.- You seem to fall into the trap of going with certain team comps without understanding the roles they are filling. Why was James shooting people, alone, from high ground with DVa? If you play like that your team aren't gaining the advantage of a tank just because you exist, nor are you doing any worthwhile damage. Play as a tank or dont play a tank. This goes for all roles. e.g. Law holding a shield when noone is behind it, Bruce playing Bastion but not asking the tanks to cover him for turret destruction. If youre just walking around in sentry not calling plays, at that point why not just go soldier and have more damage for the same role? Adam deciding Pharah is a Pharah counter. The problem there seems pretty obvious. Learn the characters actual roles and apply them to beating the enemies.

    2.- Both first point rounds on these maps played the same way: On D you held at the choke but the enemies just walked around you without taking the fight, then they have the pressure of being on point which forces you to turn and retreat and have surrounded you. Then on attack you simply stand in choke shooting directionless damage and hoping that magically the whole enemy team will simultaneously die and you can walk on point uncontested. That will never happen. You have to break the choke immediately as fighting there is playing exactly into the defence's hands. On anubis James' Pharah helped do this by flanking and dragging the roadhog and soldier on point which allowed your team to win the push 5v4. He maybe didnt get a load of kills but was instrumental in winning the point.

    Really hope to see some redemption on the final parts of this season and for you to keep it up!

      All of my thoughts, right here. The D.Va play got to me the most considering how strong she is up close but all they need is to reevaluate how they play their characters/roles and they'll do way better. And managing the tilt too, that'll also help.

    Match 2 breakdown;

    Lawrence makes a good point, they never slow down to group up in the last match, there was a such a lack in communications of what we see. anyways moving on.

    Maybe you guys should of let Lawrence DPS or heal. It seems James and Adam play together outside this and they have a duo tank system with Zarya. Let Lawrence try something new next time.

    Bruce keeps calling watch your right, but Lawrence does not seem to hear this, Reaper is there, he sets his shield, i assume gets hit by Reaper and that is when he starts to back up. With the shield there Adam should have pushed the reaper with Lawrence since the shield was down to protect that angle. But instead they pull back and push left. This is kind of out of their control since that is where Soldier pushed. Lawrence should of used the Halt orb to pull people down instead he shoots in and seems to forget about it, either way he would of just grouped everyone behind the Rein shield. They get into the left room and Lawrence gets picked by getting pinned (he says he hit shift but it the cooldown never went off) and a soldier shooting him. He could of also tried a Halt orb since that is off cooldown aswell. We see Bruce res Lawrence, good however James is pushed ahead fighting Solder and Hog on point, James does not call this out, he gets some shots off and moves away, goo thing he moved away but he should of said something. I do not know if James is still in a lose streak funk or he just does not make calls. I assume it is the funk since James starts to make calls after they take the first point and there is some hope they can pull this off.

    Point 2;

    Bruce starts to chase people down with Mercy's pistol, just play Lucio, Moira, or Zen if they want to DPS and support, I know the res has amazing value but you don't always need a Mercy if you can land those hits as a support in this SR. BRUCE why did you pop Valk? No one is hurt, well you are, but you are behind a shield and have passive healing, o yeah and a health pack to your right. Instead you pop Valk, and once again do not say anything. You should be telling everyone to just get on point, you popped ult and have 2 resurrections. Instead nothing, not even the Hanzo res, and no real push is made. At the same time, why are Adam and Lawrence just baby stepping towards the point. Lawrence throw that shield into the enemy's face and walk up there. Get your toes on point and force them to engage you. They are happy to fight back there, they have pillars and walls to hide behind while you only have your shield which they can melt down. You guys finally make your push and the enemy Mercy uses Ult. reviving the tank and other support you just killed. Lawrence points this out, atleast we made mercy use her res. They decide to group up and start the next push, good. James calling our Mercy is picked over and over again is good but really Bruce should be saying, I am dead pull back. Because James is saying this Lawrence seems to think that James met the enemy Mercy and is confused. It is fine, they try and regroup but that Hanzo ult fucked you guys. It would of been an amazing Zarya Hanzo combo but instead Hanzo blows his load and then has the balls to yell at Adam. Talk about a toxic idiot. With the combo you guys could of easily gotten the point at the 3 minute mark. instead this stalls out to almost overtime. You guys try to group up but the Hanzo is now a Soldier and ran in alone. We see James doing his thing again of not communicating and doing what he wants to. He is doing well as Tracer, but Like the Hanzo before him he uses his pulse bomb without telling his team so they could follow up. He used it the same moment Bruce dies to Junk, so bad luck there, but once he fails to kill the Rein with the bpmb and the Rein starts to get heals he should of ran, instead he keeps trying to kill the Rein and dies for it. Another regroup. The bad DPS is blaming the Tanks and toxicness insues. Well with blowing all your Ults you guys cap the point. This really should of happened sooner but that DPS Hanzo/Soldier can only be toxic and can not communicate.

    Defending point A;

    The issue with setting up in that room to the right is if no one goes there 1/3rd of your team is now out of the fight, which is what happens. Also it seems Adam does not play Hog much, he keeps drinking early and is not landing many hooks. Team was split, team falls, to point B.

    Defending point B;

    You never get a chance to regroup, Lawrence sees a charging Rein and puts his shield down instead of fortifying and it just goes down hill. James uses ult and gets a res on which helps turn the tide. James calls out Moira behind the point but not which of the 3 behinds she could be at. Lawrence is even looking for her in the small area trying to help James but he just keeps saying behind the point. She was in the back left of the point. Moving on. They enemy does another big push, Adam gets some good hooks off, causing the enemy Mercy to use Valk and Reaper comes in and utls. Not sure what happened first but Adam wholehogs and kills the Rein but pushes the ulting Reaper right into James' face. If Adam ulted in response to the Reaper bad idea, always hook an ulting Reaper, if he did it to melt the ressed Rein, bad luck. With Mercy down and Rein earth shattering Adma and Bruce the rest of the team easy gets picked off. Lucky James has ult again and saves the day with a double res. Widow is basically doing whatever she wants since there is no counter tho her on your team. Adam Ults and pushes Rein away and stops this push. You can see the Reaper moving around above Adam and Lawrence's head on James' screen but he doesn't notice or say anything as the Reaper then jumps down. Need to work on your awareness guys. One Ult followed by another then another from the enemy team. there is no coming back from that.

    Overtime;

    They know they have to push fast and they do so, just charging through the enemy and really showing that if you can deathball alot of teams just are not ready for that. They get there, get some ults and blow them to take point A, sadly with their ults blown and the enemy most likely having their's this ends with that. You guys make a good attempt but Ana nano's Rein which pushes Lawrence down, D.VA then gets to ult with no shield to stop it gets Mercy and while all the supports are dead the enemy spawns closer and there is just no time. Your going to trickle in at best while the other team can slowly group up. Does not help that enemy Mercy Ulted to get 2 resses off.

    Bruce you cant just stand there, use your right clicks to send damage that shields cant stop into their team, this will give you ult charge. All you did was let them know you where there with out dealing any damage. James calls Reaper above not noticing or hearing the teleport, so James just walks into him. He does not say Reaper dropped down, he just dies and stops giving information. Adam then dies the same way. the team falls, time for point B. They are doing a good job of making calls and focusing down targets, this is some of the best playing we have seen all episode as there is a change to get a tie vs a straight loss. Adam pulls molten core though not realizing how weak the enemy Rein was. This is sadly the mistake that loses the game for them. With 40 seconds left the other team can easily regroup and make 1 final push. Lawrence and not using Orisa's fortify right again. You hear Rein start his charge so Lawrence moves to a side and plants the supercharger. If he had fortified and gotten in front of Rein the bastion would of survived and together Rein would of been melted, then place the Supercharger. Enemy bastion ults, kills the supercharger, moves around to Adam's turret and instead of backing off Adam charges the bastion only to get killed, and the entire time the enemy Rein is just doing what ever he wants with a pocket Mercy. The rest does not matter as a Rein, Mercy, Reaper, and Bastion are set up on the point taking it. It was a good effort, but alot of mistakes where made on the defense.

    Sorry this is so long, I am trying to help point out their errors so they can learn. Do not down vote because you think I am being mean or pointing one person out more than another. I want to see these guys improve and I know I got better by watching my games back and seeing the errors in my way. I agree with your point about how Lawrence should try a different hero/role. In my personal opinion Lawrence has been one of the biggest issues because he seems to only play (or be able to play) Rein and Orisa which are basically the same hero (yes Orisa can dps and Rein can charge but they're still both slow moving tanks with a big shield) I really hoped to see Lawrence get better at Rein, but, although he has improved he hasn't improved to the point where he can play rein in every game in every situation. And Orisa is a bit of a niche pick really only working on defence and payload maps (preferably with a Bastion or Torb)

      I want to say that Adam should play less Phara. Although he's good at Phara, she has a lot of counters especially with Winston and Dva being strong in the current meta. sometimes a simple McCree pick can really help.

      I have to commend Bruce for continuing to play Mercy. Plenty of people are getting really bored with Mercy and are switching to Ana or Moira. Good job Bruce! I will say that if anyone is to become the "Team captain" it should be Bruce, due to the fact that he is at the back line and is going to see the most.

      IMO James is the best player. We've seen him play tons of heroes, and he play them well. But I think the reason we get to see him play so many heroes is that he's frantically trying to find something that will work. In all honesty I just want to watch James play Dva and Tacer (he could consider picking up Sombra more)

      Not sure how to finish this. If Lawrence could play Winston then Adam could safely play Phara; Lawrence would just have to make sure to keep disrupting the enemy McCree or Widow or whatever. Adam should try to find a different comfort pick (perhaps Genji or Tracer). Bruce needs to be more vocal about team positioning and ult usage. James should just be more confident in his picks and could maybe take the reins on team composition.

    Match 1 breakdown;

    Comp looks good, the loud youngling and the mumbling teammates are not ideal. So to start things look good, but no one sees the Mercy or Pharah flying over the buildings. This would be the Mercy and secondary tank's job to keep eyes on the point and alternate attack angles, but it is a common mistake. Pharah kills both supports before James as time to react and this is an easy win for the enemy. Adama switches which is a good call, but to counter Pharmercy a Pharah is not a great choice. I know Adam is a great Pharah and he gets some good kills in there, but Widow, McCree, or Soldier would of been better options if Adam is good with a hitscan and you can get your Ana to help. D.Va can help remove some of the damage, but Winston is surprisingly better at dealing damage back.

    Ok the payload is in motion, Adam kills Pharah and Mercy, which causes the domino effect of the enemy leaving the cart, good. on the retake we see the enemy Pharah focus Bruce but do not see how he dies. Bruce should of been able to find safety behind Lawrence's shield, we can see Lawrence just killed Soldier with firestrike so maybe that is why Brice died. Maybe Bruce could not make it to Lawrence. Either way they are down a Bruce. Then falls Junk and Lawrence starts to peel back. I am unsure why you guys decided to fight off the payload. You guys are spread out and easy targets for a PharMercy. Which is what happens. You can see in James and Lawrence faces that they have all but given up on this entire game. I have been on a losing streak and it can really feel like a bottomless pit. Anyways they try another push and Adam pushes ahead hoping Bruce can pocket him, sadly Bruce does not make it out the window but Adam goes ahead and ults, getting the enemy Zarya but dies. Bruce Ults and gets Adam back, the enemy Soldier pops his ult, which once again no one seems to hear the sound cue or calls it out and Bruce dies in the air. I keep rewatching that portion and i can not hear the sound cue either. I hear an earth shatter, but no tactical visor, hmm. Lawrence i understand you think it is funny that they are calling Adam out, but really not needed.

    The last portion of this map. Lawrence while talking about their teammate charges into the enemy Rein and Mercy alone. Not going to lie, this is a pretty classic Lawrence and rookie Rein mistake. Instead of talking about the trash talk going on, ask for support Lawrence, or look around and call the 2 out. Junk could of followed you and would of been an easy kill on Rein, maybe even Mercy, instead you charge in alone right out of spawn and die. Atleast Lawrence notices this and apologizes. I assume Ana is dead, there is a slight cut with the payload moved up a few meters, everyone is low health as Bruce tries to heal them all. I see Bruce healing the Ana a few seconds later but i don't see the Ana really healing anyone else, they slept the Rein but that is about it, this is out of your guys control.. Anyways people are trickling in since the cart hits the corner and not enough kills for them to regroup it is an easy push to the end for the enemy. It never looks like you guys regroup once they got into the building. just kept doing your own thing and trickling. Unlike the last video i do not hear Bruce or Lawrence making calls to fall back or regroup.

    No real point in going over the next round, they have given up, They are playing, but it might aswell be quickplay. It is sad to watch. There are a few good points, but in general just hard to watch.

    They're trying so hard to be a team that they are too afraid to make individual decisions and calls. I've seen and experienced it many times. When Law and Adam decided on the actually good plan of soaking bubble damage with Orisa, Lawrence only focused on feeding Zarya charge and completely stopped on trying to move up as a tank. This in return later on caused a moment where Bruce popped Valk at second point on offense but nobody pushed up.

    When you're playing as a team, it's important to make individual calls rather than relying on shotcallers. The core of playing as a team at lower levels is to focus on your own game and focus on seeing, communicating and seizing opportunities. "What are we going to do this round" is less important, and in some cases even paralyzing, than "What are we going to do this SECOND". When Bruce pops Valk early, he has to yell for the team to push up, not in the form of "lets push up", but  "Push up I Valk'd, you literally can't die" to rationalize the reason for a risky push.  When an enemy Soldier over extends to your backline, the individual has to make the call, not in the form of "soldier behind", but "soldier behind he's a free kill" to urge the players at the front to crunch down on him.

    There are many nuances about hero selection and countering in overwatch, but save for the most obvious ones (e.g "we need a hitscan for that pharah"), most of that does not matter at lower levels.

    Lawrence, ditch Rein after the choke and switch to Winston to dive on squishes. James keep with D.Va and clean up kills. Adams Pharah is actually nice, but if the enemy team has a hit scan he should switch to maybe soldier or tracer, Maybe McCree. I'm a mercy main so I feel Bruce's pain. If people move to far forward or split up, stay with 1 group. Flying around solo healing is just a death sentence. Solo healing is no longer possible with Mercys nerfs so another healer is ideal, Zenyatta for heals and discords. You guys have the communication AND some skills you just need to know dive comps and counters. So here's my idea.....

    Adam: Pharah/Hit scan

    Lawrence: Rein/Winston

    James: D.Va/Hit Scan

    Bruce: Mercy

    If the two randoms pick up another healer and a hit scan you guys are golden.

    I see what people are saying about the extra two slots, but that's definitely not the biggest issue. James was along the right track, in that they're not grasping the versatility of the situation fast or effective enough. They all, Laurence especially (sorry Laurence), lack independent acting in game. They want to stick to hard wired strategy, when the game is designed to be fast paced. James is an amazing dps and healer. He's insanely mobile, so he can distract well. Bruce is also a good healer, but I liked the experiment with sombra and other quick characters, potentially fitting into the distracting/picking role. Lawrence is better at Orisa, but still isn't the best tank. He's not adaptable enough. Adam is a good pharah and sniper, he's got to work on interchanging more. As far as strategy goes, if your on offense, hit in hard with a Rein charge, or Doomfist with the dps flankers close behind to clean up, and cut off the enemy. Then the tankier dps come in, with james doing driveby healing. On defense, they gotta have one person posted up, but have a roaming defense to cover them at all times. When the defense person comes back, mix up the post to keep the enemy out of the loop, but keep them COVERED. You guys got this, I really enjoy this series, and a break always helps. You just gotta diversify, adapt, and speed up your strategies. Good luck.

      Yeah it’s not like they’re at any more of a disadvantage than any other team with 4 people. It is annoying to have 2 randoms with you but the other team has the same “disadvantage” as they do (since the game normally pairs 4 stacks against other 4 stacks). Not always the case but they’re already at more of an advantage than solo cue

    I know it's been said to death, but I'll say it again. They need to fill up those last 2 slots. Train 2 people in the office to join you guys, even if it's purely supportive roles. John seemed capable in that video last week... (No offense to Jacob & Bones :p) Not trying to compare in some way, but the reason AH seems to come up against all odds constantly is teamwork. It feels like Funhaus' synergy is always destroyed by having 2 random people, whether or not they're actually throwing or the gang mentally handicaps themselves because they feel like they're 2 lesser. I guess this actually doesn't need saying, but they should probably take breaks between demoralizing games. It doesn't help with them going into the next one...

    I want this series to keep going, but judging by their burnout attitudes it will only work if they ditch the randos and drag in two more staffers to the team.

    around 21:00 James should have called for you all to push he had half of them at the point distracted with the tank about to go down.

    i've only seen a couple of these videos so far but will watch the others to see how you guys do when trying to play a game. Keep it up though!

    I dont normally find myself commenting on the content I watch but I just, idk I've been watching rooster teeth since I was like 9 or 10 but was never in a situation financially until recently where I could subscribe to be a first member(which I'm loving btw)

    anyways i just wanted to say some stuff on the odd chance they end up reading my comment and maybe it's been said before but whatever. and just a disclaimer i dont play overwatch competitively but i still keep up with stuff like the overwatch league. im just going off my experiences from when I would play halo with a competitive mindset and the strats we used. and feel free to disagree im here to have conversation about video games and whatnot.

    so something that me and my team would utilize in the days of halo were map callouts. i noticed the other day tho overwatch doesnt have callouts on the map. and ik it probably wont be worth the energy but maybe taking the time to make even simple map callouts can help with team play A LOT. another good one is the "look" callout which works in tandem with map callouts. for example: "Look top cafe" something quick and simple and to remind your team to look somewhere they maybe forgot about. and obviously with them going into it with just the four of them it makes sense it aint easy for them. but i have to applaud these guys for just even trying to talk to the other two teammates who arent guaranteed to talk to them. yeah im tired and that's all i got rn. feel free to reply and let's discuss!

    To preface, I did see the text at the end saying there are two more episodes.

    I would love to see this series keep going.  I know that this season has been rougher in many ways in the first, but it's still been an enjoyable series to watch.  I don't play Overwatch.  My knowledge of the game mostly comes from you guys and this series.  But I believe that if we always watched wins, it wouldn't be compelling.  I can imagine that it is frustrating or worse to have a series of losses and games like you've had, and I certainly understand the desire to want to stop playing or stop the series because of that.  But this is easily one of my favorite FIRST shows, and I have been looking forward to Thursdays because of this.  Obviously I'm unsure about how the Overwatch seasons or leagues or whatever actually run, but you'll have my views if you put out another season when this one ends.

    Mainly I enjoy this series because I suck at FPS games, and I wish I was good sometimes.  The team-based nature of this game, and the focus on communication and team composition makes it compelling to someone like me, because it is not just a death match, or an objective based game where everyone is mostly equal in stats.  To me, the best e-sports to watch are ones at which I am bad (read as "all of them"), because it I don't get the frustration of seeing people play poorly or missed opportunities.  I get to see competitors who are way beyond my skill, and it makes high level play accessible to me in ways it wouldn't be otherwise, win or lose.

    Sports fans, both traditional and E, shouldn't abandon their team after a bad run.  Fans should be there to encourage and support them through the shit times, showing that they are fans of the team, not solely of the wins.  So here's one fan saying I'm with you guys, no matter what.

    losing that torb at the end there is what lost the game, but he couldn't have done anything about that bastion. so not his fault.

    Kudos to you for doing this. It's a nightmare with randoms and I feel your pain, I enjoyed this all the same for not just that you are all playing. But you are critical to yourselves and your team as well. It's been interesting to watch. :)
