For anyone that cares, the wrestlers in the top left are Kurt Angle (face not shown) and Marty Jannetty. The 'woman' with Doink I believe is Heath Slater.

The Willems wrestling knowledge is on point otherwise.

There is a "The Color of Magic" movie that has been made.  Of course, the whole "book is better than the movie argument" will come into play for avid Discworld readers.  But, for the point that James makes about difficulty visualizing descriptions, it's a good quick way to see the writer's intention.  Plus, it's a good quick way to get someone to either be interested or disinterested in delving deeper into that world through reading.  James, I'd recommend seeing the movie, if you enjoyed the story that the book told.  It would be a visual compliment.

I think your next great show should be what you did in the latest demo disk.  Looking back on old episodes and offering comedy commentary about them.

In the year of the member berry, I think you'd have a surefire hit on your hands.   (Or at least you'd appease that 3,000 or so core audience who watches twits and crits, of which I'm a part of)

P.S.  Eylse was an awesome host, hopefully she gets a chance to do it again sometime.

I love how most of their favorite productions is just stuff that is short and sweet so they don't have to do more work.

You do realise that it's their humour style? It's actually fucking hard to cut 2 hours of footage into 15 minutes while not taking out too much and making it awful. They do a fantastic job at what they do.

Since the movie podcast videos apparently aren't doing well, hopefully they can become sponsor only? Correct me if I'm wrong but they seem like one of the easier shows to produce. Only requiring a web cam, mics, screen capture, and recording time. In depth editing doesn't seem required other than simple sync and trim. Maybe I'm trying to justify it because I love hearing your input on movies.

Just a guy hoping to see Filmhaus become a thing.

I think the problem is that with movie podcasts the audience needs to have seen the film, before listening/watching the podcast. Especially how spoiler heavy they can get. It's also why major TV podcasts fail, because the audience is just very limited per show they talk about. And aside from fans, I don't think many people go to funhaus for their movie opinions, because that isn't their focus like some major movie review channels.

If James only read The Colour of Magic and The Light Fantastic, I'd recommend he gives the series another go with a later book - I'd recommend Sourcery, Night Watch or Soul Music. The first two books suffer a lot from Early Installment Weirdness and are basically just parody of fantasy tropes.

Yeah, the Rincewind books are generally a bit more trippy than the others because of all the magic, and it doesn't help that Pratchett's style is a sort of 'Douglas Adams Lite' which goes off on tangents and has a lot of commentary built into the narration, following a single story thread becomes a lot more difficult that way. Either the Watch series or later when you get into Moist von Lipwig I found were the easier ones to introduce people to Discworld.

I remember spending years refusing to read the discworld books, because I hated the first Rincewind book so tremendously. Then I read the first Vimes/Watch book, and it completely changed my opinion of the whole universe. Discworld is one of those things where it's best when there's somebody kinda normal to ground things. Vimes or Moist or someone like that is always going to be infinitely better than the Rincewind books.
