Holy shit!! I didn't even realize they had posted my starbucks cups on here! I saw James @ RTX and told him about the cups and he was like "Yeah, you tweeted them at us right? It was on Fan Show." I like couldn't even speak. It was so nice meeting them!! I didn't see all of them but I was still very grateful to see who I could.

This doesn't apply to this video specifically, but I thought it would be a good place to ask: Can someone please explain the little story snippets we've been getting in the descriptions of various videos? Who's writing them? What do they mean?

I think that there's a lot that people can take away from the way FH addresses comments.

If someone's commentary on your content is constructive or has anything thought-provoking in it, then address it and use it to improve (like FH does on the Post Show). Taking constructive feedback and incorporating it into your content is how you get better.

If the comment is just someone telling you that you're stupid or it's in some other way useless and nonconstructive, then ignore it or laugh at it (like the comments show). If there's nothing in the comment worth listening too, then there's no point giving it any thought.

I know it's harder than that, but with practice I imagine this is where most content producers end up. Learning to figure out what is worth listening to and what to ignore is very valuable when you are putting your work out into a public forum since the negativity/trolling won't stop.

About the porn in demo disc, in my opinoin it has a more comedic value if its blurred, and if someone wants to see what you guys are seeing then they know how to find it.

It always amazes me how different fans are on here from youtube. No one's calling someone a fag, or a cunt, or any other offensive words I don't feel like typing out right now. Arguments and disagreements are civil and well thought out. Even when there's some real anger in a comment, there is also respect to whomever it's directed to. On youtube, I actively avoid the comments section. On here, I actively seek it out.

Well, the amount of flow here is not even a fraction of the amount that YT has, plus only people willing to pay a sponsorship are able to watch this and on top of that, anonymity here is harder to achieve. why do you have to compare totally different mediums to make a point? Just enjoy both for what they are. and not for what you want them to be.

You guys are exceptionally nuanced when it comes to the subject of Freedom of Speech.
One thing - of many - that people simply don't get when it comes to Freedom of Speech is that it's a two way street; whilst everyone has the right to be offended, everyone also has the right to be offensive. People also have the unwelcome habit of confusing 'vehemently disagreeing with an opinion' with 'trying to silence someone's free speech' - almost as though they're saying that having the right to free speech somehow shields their opinions from criticism or mockery (I'm not suggesting you do any of this btw). Let alone people not getting the difference between private/public platforms/forums (Which you guys explained well with your party/mad-shouty person in the street example). My question however is in regards to an ethical dilemma that arises when defending free expression or freedom of speech. I've noticed (and I'm not trying to imply that I'm the first person to) that people frequently support freedom of speech selectively. For example a friend and I took part in a Pride march/parade in her city where she lives here in the UK. There are still homophobes who complain that they do not wish to see/hear "that sort of thing" going on in "their" town. Pride organisers, participants, my friend and I would retort that we are free to conduct or participate in peaceful demonstrations and free speech. In the same month however, I noticed that my friend had posted a petition to the government proposing to prevent and ban a march comprised of an openly racist and homophobic organisation that was going to be held in her town. Her case was that she "didn't want to see or hear that sort of thing going on in my town". I was the only friend to leave a comment supporting this moronic group's right to do a peaceful protest and none of her other friend's understood why. In other words, do you guys find it difficult to retain a good frame of mind when defending specific rights, like freedom of speech, when it unfortunately means that you are, in the eyes of others, defending homophobes and racists utilising (or abusing) their free speech? (Sorry for the essay)

I've never agreed with something on the internet as much as I do with what you just posted. That same reasoning made me stop supporting groups that proclaim "freedom" and "acceptance" but fail to see that they are being self-righteous and have twisted logic. It is really sad to see people shielding behind the social construct of rightness to acquire power and shun those who think differently.

I would like an "uncensored" video series on the site of some sort, I think... It would be interesting to see how it does, but I'd like to get a look at whatever is causing your reactions, or inspiring your jokes.

Maybe just throw up a few uncensored Demo Disks, or some of Lawrence's anime gameplay stuff as a few of the 'unedited videos' that you guys post for sponsors occasionally? I'm pretty sure that there is already a 'inappropriate content' warning/tag somewhere on this site (just steal AH's intro to Theater Mode otherwise), but honestly I think that the "Advertisers might be wary if they see porn partway into a video" issue kind of died in the first hundred RT podcasts alone, and I'm pretty sure that Burnie at the very least wouldn't be too afraid of trying the idea out.

Otherwise, just make sure that there is always a facecam or something in the shot with rule34/porn and make the thumbnail suitably zany and non-obvious.

I'm no expert on any of this, but I think that out of all of RT, your audience would be the most receptive to this kind of thing. Worst comes the worst, pull a Cow Chop/Cr1tikal and post the video on Pornhub.

When I graduated high school I was obsessed with Achievement Hunter. Throughout college I lost interest and now I have graduated college and I'm obsessed with Funhaus. Funny how true age demographics can be. Glad Rooster Teeth has an umbrella for all ages.

Thanks for addressing my comment and in the interest of clarity I'll add that I don't take any issue with internet media sites managing their content. Instead it's users of these sites that have an expectation of freedom, which Adam referred to as having been spoiled, that I am concerned with. It should be clear by now that social media apps/sites are only the machine by which the true product of a twitter or facebook is produced. That product being an audience for advertisement and data for market research. With that in mind it's not the person shouting hateful garbage across the street that is refused an audience because people are drawn to negativity. It's instead the person with a critical opinion that is turned away because they do not provide useful data for marketers or bring an audience. How this ties back into art and fan fiction I'm not sure, but now that I think about it I'm sure art/writing posted on social media influences trends in those industries and is probably analyzed in a similar way.

This might just be me, but it would be nice in the post show not only to have serious topics but also maybe a more relaxed shoot the breeze. After all I think the funniest and best podcast moments are the ones when you guys are telling stories and riffing on each other. :)

I am signed in and a sponsor, but it says I need to become a sponsor to watch this video?

Edit: Thanks to GawsHawg for pointing out my video wasn't showing a countdown. I only became a sponsor last week.

3 hours have passed so I'll assume this is incredibly relevant to you, now more than ever before...

But ever since the website was updated some videos don't have the visible countdown to when they will be available. This usually happens with sponsor content and instead of a countdown, it gives you the whole "become a sponsor to watch this" message, but really, you just have to wait.
