You can't vote on your phone because your phone isn't even remotely secure. Yes you can do banking shit on your phone, but fuck no that does not mean it is secure. You think there's a big kerfuffle now over election-hacking? Every country on the planet that had access to at least one computer would be hacking your elections if you were allowed to vote with your phones.

I'm curious what is the social stigma on drinking at a young age in America? In Australia the drinking age is 18 but you can legally drink on private property with parental permission under that age, I would regularly have gatherings with friends from 15yo where we would drink and our parents would buy our alcohol and it isn't seen as a big deal. Not sure if this is the same for everyone in Australia but everyone I've talked to about the subject was in a similar situation/state of mind.

Speculation involved here, but I think with the things in America that are aged gated has to do with potentially self destructive behavior and being mentally mature enough to willingly potentially put yourself at a disadvantage.  (This is not to say everyone who drinks ruins their life, just it is a potentially addictive and medically damaging behavior).

Alcohol, Tobacco and gambling are pretty self explanatory.  Potentially addictive and if you fall into addiction, potentially life ruining vices.   With alcohol being 21 vs. 18 if I had to guess, it might have something to do with just how much a small amount can impact your state of mind, but it is likely just an outdated oversight given that we know tobacco even with casual use is detrimental to ones health.

With sex and the age of consent the two greatest things you can do to avoid below the poverty line in America are to finish high school and don't be a single parent.  Having a kid before 18 likely causes those two things to happen.

surely the age of consent for anal is changing all over the world because it needs to match the age of consent of vaginal intercourse for equalityreasons; respect of diversity and homosexuality, because any variation in age could be interpreted as discrimination

you say that as if you believe that all societies and governments view eliminating discrimination as an important goal. they don't. as an example, homosexuality is illegal, punishable by 14 years in jail, in Uganda, and it is a law they are actively enforcing.

(I am not saying this because I believe that they are "right", just pointing out that it exists)

Oh I see the ambiguity there...My meaning was not 'all over the world' as in everywhere around the world, but instead 'all over the world' as in a few places, widely spread across the globe.

Good job our lovely community doesn't just randomly accuse others of being ignorant, naiive, insensitive or offensive without considering differences in their command of the English language.

Not everyone is as eloquent and articulate in their expression of sentiments as others.

With regards to my comment that featured in the last post show about Socialism and Capitalism in terms of Net Neutrality and Utilities, I wasn't in any way implying that I think it should be "either this or that" as James said (Unless you weren't implying I am one of these people that do this). I too am frustrated by how people think in purely black and white terms. I'm also well aware that, in the US and Europe, there's a fusion of Capitalist ideas and Socialist ideas, and that, in an ideal world, we'll have the best of both worlds (and others). I just wanted some clarification where it seemed that you thought a government controlled utility (Net Neutrality in this case) was emblematic of Capitalism when, in this specific example, it seems more emblematic of a Socialist idea. That's it. I wasn't making a broader point about "we should be 100% socialist" or "we should be 100% capitalist". Sorry for the misunderstanding and keep up the good work!

So mixing the ideas a bit, instead of a second channel maybe you could do something like an "end of the week" stream or maybe once a month, where you answer questions and play whatever game. You could do a dry run on the site first and see how it goes and if it works then try it on youtube. Or maybe just keep it in the site as a way to attract more people to get a first membership.

Also, Bruce saying my last name sounded pretty cool.

if you actually don't register to vote in Australia, you aren't on the register so they can't fine you because they don't know you haven't voted. I have a lot friends who have never voted and they have never got a fine.

A 2012 amendment to the 'Commonwealth Electoral Act' allows the AEC to use information from other government agencies (ATO, Medicare, maybe the recent census) to enrol a person in the electorate indicated by the information obtained. I don't know that they "can't fine you" as much as they just generally don't bother or don't have the resources. But, on the bright side, the "don't tick any box and maybe draw a veiny-phallus on the ballot paper" trick is looking pretty safe for now.

That idea James had about the shoot-the-shit gameplays sounds great. I know fuhaus is supposed to just be a comedy channel with bad games as a backdrop, but their personalities are ideal for let's plays.

The reasoning for lowering that anal age is for gay kids aged 16. Obviously we know kids shouldn't be fucking but of course they are and under previous legislature it made it essentially illegal to be gay until you're 18. Of course it's kind of an unenforceable thing but it's essentially discrimination.

Idk why they're surprised. The age of consent is 16 in some US states, including mine, New Jersey.
