I sometimes get confused about the whole "games are $60" argument/comment. Then I realise that I am Australian and the base price of new release games is locked at $99.95+ depending on the game (AAA Titles and whatnot). I get jealous mostly whenever I hear the $60 new game argument because we've never really had that here, it would be fine and I would personally love it if the price directly translated from USD to AUD (Where  $60 USD = roughly $75 AUD as it currently stands) but that just isn't the case. Over here it's unfortunately a little more of an investment if you like buying and playing video games and it sucks. Including the fact that DLC is also more expensive it makes even less sense here in Australia for games to not be completed at release, because taking Forza Horizon 3 as an example:

The game costs $99.95 for the base, standard edition

Then Blizzard Mountain and the HotWheels expansion come out and for them both it costs around $56 when not on sale

So you're paying close to $150 if you choose to get the DLC as well, which is a lot of money to spend on a single game.

I know it'll never catch on, but I'm totally on board with the $80 "complete" game mentality. It's very annoying when you buy a $60 game and then it repeatedly reminds you that they want to nickle-and-dime you for more content afterwards. And then most of the extra content itself is all bits and pieces of uncohesive add-ons. I just want to make a one-and-done purchase and then completely forget about things like real-world money because I'm enjoying a solid game.

I'm generally fine with DLC that adds good-sized chunks of content well after the game has been out for a while. But day-one DLC and microtransactions just send a clear statement to me that this product is incomplete or inferior on its own and is designed to make people want to feed it more money. It's all well and good when they only add these kinds of things to new IPs and so you just don't buy them, but it really sucks when they sneak it into the latest installment of a series that you're already heavily invested in.

This is extremely unimportant overall, but I think they've said it a few times (or at least I've heard this a few times) and it's a rumor that I think has a more interesting truth than what people think is the truth. David Bowie didn't have heterochromia. He had a permanently dilated pupil from a friend of his punching him in the left eye and it tearing his eye's sphincter muscles, making it so the pupil was permanently unable to dilate. The difference in size of his pupil gives the illusion that they're different colors, but they are both blue.

Technically speaking, the only Nazi's left are the few old men/women who are clinging too life who where part of the Nazi Party in the 1930's, anyone other than that who believes in their ideology are Neo-Nazis

I don't think Bowie has Heterochromia. I think one of his eyes was permanently dialated from an injury so they appeared to be different colors but were not.

I agree with Adam that some people like the RNG I for one love world of Warcraft and borderlands and I love farming a boss for a drop but when you have the ability to spend money to make that drop not random because they design these systems so poorly that it alters the game to become pay to win it pisses me off. overwatch has a good system and I don't mind the packs because it works for that game your not sitting there spinning a slot so u can unlock reapers ultimate ability to kill people faster and last longer you jus get a kick ass skin. I also think that the only way you can truly beat a multiplayer game is by unlocking all the stuff.

also want to point out that the random element becomes not fun at all whn they purposly fuck the odd like they did with the REQ system in halo 5

I think Lawrence hit the nail on the head when he was talking about learning and developing independent thinking skills. I'm a school librarian at a fairly forward-thinking school which heavily emphasizes group learning and communication etc. and while all that stuff is incredibly valuable, I feel like there needs to be a balance. So many kids won't even TRY to solve a problem or issue themselves and instead just immediately ask me (9 times out of 10) or another student for help. Taking the initiative to figure out a problem yourself is super important, and to me it seems like standardized test situations are almost more about forcing yourself to work through a problem independently rather than memorizing or knowing the actual information (unfortunately grading doesn't really reflect that, but...).

Earth Defence Force is always such a great surprise when it's uploaded. It's one of my favourite series I didn't know I needed until it uploads.

    Also, Nichijou is THE BOMB!

I'm really enjoying the guys in the Let's Play family earnestly trying to get better at playing video games, like Funhaus' Overwatch and AH's Skyfactory and Rainbow Six Siege. The great thing is, with their personalities, it's also pretty funny, too. So, yeah, I hope you guys can continue with your "Get Gud," series.

PLEASE "renew" eSports Ejects, and definitely try out your collaboration method with fans, week-to-week. One episode in and it's a great series.  I'm sure we'll all love about the power of friendship through it.

I'm a bit annoyed by people who say that games are in pieces now and you have to pay more to get the rest of a game.  CoD is the best picture of this, before you got a campaign and 8-12 multiplayer maps. That was it, it wasn't 28 maps.  So now to support the game and keep people playing it longer they make new maps, and they wan't to get paid for them.  Hell you get as much or more content from a CoD map pack than from some standalone 60 dollar games.

I remember the bad old days of playing the same damn Halo maps over and over again.  Then when Halo 2 came out we got new maps after a while and where happy to pay for them because it prevented that.

I also remember the really bad old days of paying 60 dollars for a game that was maybe 5 hours of campaign and that was it.....if it actually worked.

As for micro transaction, they don't bother meas long as I can unlock the content without paying, like Overwatch.   Although I do hate RNG....like Overwatch.

I agree with Adam on the high school being far from the best time of your life.

Objectively, during the school you have much more limited possibilities than later in life. It doesn't matter if someone's life ended up being filled with work/other activities/people they don't like - after all, this person has made some choices that let to this point. Whereas in school you don't have any choice if your parent are not that open-minded.

    To the high school freshman:

It's totally natural and okay to be nervous, but you don't have to let it stop you from enjoying yourself.  I would suggest you ask for help from someone.  Your school almost certainly has a guidance counselor, and they are professionally trained to deal with exactly this kind of issue.  Know that there is a slight chance that that particular person may be an asshole, so keep an open mind, but be ready to walk away if something doesn't feel right, or seek another person out for guidance if the relationship with that person is fine but isn't quite the right fit for your personalities.  There are many other people who are well equipped to help you; maybe you have sibling or parent you feel comfortable talking to, or maybe there is a religious or community leader you trust.

I say this because for me the very act of speaking my concerns out loud to someone, face to face, does a tremendous amount of good for me--in addition to the aid I get from hearing their perspective on whatever the situation may be.  I wish you the best of luck.  Despite what people say, high school probably won't be the best time in your life, but it probably won't be the worst time either.

Thanks for showing my work as always gentlemen!

Adam: That pose pretty much sums up the Sting/Lex Luger relationship. They just beat part of The Four Horsemen to win the 3rd Annual Jim Crockett Sr. Memorial Cup Tag Team Tournament. They did this when both sides lost each other's respective partner and were forced to team up. At this point both men were face but Luger was just coming off being heel and still working with Horsemen members.

The pose shows the mixed feelings Luger would always have with Sting. He's happy that he got lucky with someone he didn't work with before and won a trophy because of it. But he clearly wants that trophy to himself but doesn't want to lose another friend after one already turned on him. If that isn't the case of great, subtle storytelling in pro-wrestling I don't know what will.

And yes: Luger's steroid physique is god-like. He is indeed "The Total Package".
