If white people are qualified for a job at funhaus and integrate well with the team, that shouldn't be something you have to be defensive about. People who care that funhaus is mostly white men are people that see minorities as tokens.

I really like the idea of having just non-drunk streams on Friday. I never watch the drunk videos, but I love the act of bringing everyone in the office out to the couch.

From being at RTX London both days, I have to say I thought it was brilliant, didn't get to see most of the things on the main stage and only caught one panel, but being in a room with so many people who are into the same shit that I'm into was awesome. Got to chat to a bunch of attendees and guardians and it is so nice going into a conversation immediately having something in common (side note the guardians were great given the amount of people to deal with and the changes during the event - side side note - seeing them make changes to the way queuing was done mid event to improve the experience was also great, if they can improve next time as much as Sunday was an improvement on Saturday then it will be the best show around)

Anyway what I was trying to say is that I really hope it can become a yearly thing and look forward to seeing it grow even more.

Its legal in California m8. Drinking killed my dad and my mom was an alcoholic. Doctors recommend pot and now she's completly functional and we have a relationship. Where are u from man? I don't understand ur prejudice; what's the difference between weed and booze?

The Thing I like most about the drunk streams/gameplays is the contest aspect of it, seeing who wins and the amount of shots/ points, Instead having to drink shots make the punishment for them something else. The punishment don't' have to be overtop, very painful, dangerous to your health,  or something very gross but something  the people watching live would find funny. James kind said something about this during the last stream where had to do push ups.

Oh boy, that last Drunk Stream was a mess.  I think the drinking hurt the comedy, especially during the very uncomfortable James/Elyse moments.

Perhaps it was because the drinking games made the format competitive and confrontational by design.  The E3 Drunk Streams have been entertaining because their drinking games framed the event as "Funhaus VS E3," rather than "Funhaus VS Funhaus."  I think the camaraderie was a stronger, more positive force and contributed to a friendlier atmosphere, and as a result to funnier content.

It's really good to know that the Funhaus team likes streaming together in this format (enough to brave getting trashed on weird combinations of alcohol), so I'd enjoy more Funhaus streams.  I can totally understand the workload involved though, and it's clear that part of the workload is in facilitating an environment that's conducive to good comedy.  Adding an altered mental state into the mix must make things even more complicated.

Oh gosh, I wouldn't want to add another step to your workload, Lawrence, in regards to swapping out fanart slates each week.  I was hoping more than anything to spur Kel (it was Kel that did the "Thanks for Watching", right? Probably Kel, it's always Kel) to draw more amazing group pieces of you lovely people.

Feel it's kind of disingenuous to say that the main criticism was that people didn't get to meet the personalities. The main ones that were highly upvoted, was lack of organization for queue, terrible communication with the changing rules for the queue, main hall being pointless since nintendo was drowning it out(fixed the next day). Low capacity theaters for the amount of tickets sold...

Gus on the RT podcast did a nice job talking about RTX London before the event. The plan is to increase it each year. Next year there will be more talent and, like with any good con, they'll learn from this year to make next year run smoother. It's a building process and they have some damn talented people on it.

Was at the last RTXaus didn't get to meet you lot however to Lars point of 'here's all this secondary stuff if you don't get to meet people' i actually had a ton of fun playing and chatting with various indie devs.

I loved hearing AH people passing by saying "there's so many funhaus people here" or "whats with all the funhaus shirts?"

I'm not exactly sure why RTXaus isn't at the Melbourne exhibition centre i mean i know less than you lot about planning such a huge event but melb can hold waaaaaaaaay more people and it appears from a quick wiki search RTX doubles in attendance numbers each year, At a guess melb probably costs more and makes sense being a huge venue.

$5 for a small bottle of water pissed me right off considering the 49c 90% humidity heat. lesson learned bring ya own stuff and refill from bathroom sinks if need be.

I remember seeing a full bodied furry there and people in serious cosplay gear absolutely no idea how they survived.

If Lawrence or anyone is curious about how well the events do Geoff has mentioned how they've gone in the past some being a loss and the recent RTXaustin i think just breaking even? cannot remember which podcast but some googling should do.

I'm kinda glad i didn't get a VIP ticket (they where sold out within a couple days) since you said ya don't even known if you're going till the month before id be a tad gutted getting VIP to find out nobody's going.

Love you all great podcast as always.

That inclusiveness comment was bullshit. I'm latino and I'd be extremely offended if somebody hired me because of it, instead of hiring me because of my qualifications. What's even worst is that there might be somebody who is considered white and has a better resume than me who won't get the job because of his/her race, that is straight up racist. I don't want to be treated better than anybody else (college admissions with worse grades than the rest, token hire, tiptoeing with jokes, offended on my behalf, etc.) and don't want to be treated worse (denied entry to  some place, racial profiling, etc.), all I want is to have the same opportunity to be hired than everyone else, be it white, black, asian, middle eastern, etc.

Wanna end racism and discrimination? then stop hiring people to feel better about yourselves and start hiring those who you think will bring the most profit out of it.

Nooo. Its good to be inclusive or pc but it's just comedy. I'm Asian and the racist Asian jokes are my favourite lol

Event planning will forever look like a nightmare to me. I work in a museum where we have >100 guests in any given event and even then we sometime end up winging in many regards.

Whoever said they're uncomfortable with weed must be in a really backwoods town bc I'm from Tennessee and it's literally hard to find someone who doesn't smoke or think it should be legalized. Hmmm... Respect that the answer was just don't watch then tho

    • Anonymous0Gamer FIRST Member Star(s) Indication of membership status - One star is a FIRST member, two stars is Double Gold

If he/she find it uncomfortable, then yes, they should not watch it. That's the simple answer.

Don't just assume the person is from "a really backwoods town". Many people from urban environments don't like weed, including me. I'm from the Metro Detroit area, and when I drive I smell it all the time. It's quite irritating because I hate the smell.

I would believe the dislike/uncomfortableness associated with weed is from more conservative views. Whereas people who like/don't mind it have more liberal views (This is not meant to be political. Conservative and liberal are terms that can be used outside of politics). The RT family is definitely more liberal so there are going to be more people here who like/accept weed.

I don't like weed, vaping and smoking because of how invasive they are to other people who may not want to smoke. I don't really care if you smoke; just please don't do it around me. Drinking is much less invasive (unless someone gets super drunk in public or decides to drive). I don't drink either, but I can see where someone would be fine with drinking but not weed.

So I understand why this person could feel uncomfortable seeing people they admire doing something they don't approve of.

I see what you mean man, I just don't understand why this is what finally makes people uncomfortable?? Like I don't drink bc personal family issues but watching others doesn't bother me at all. The fact that people don't want to watch bc they're gonna smoke is just stupid. Thanks for the response tho. Glad you took the time to explain ur persepective to me. As far as the backwoods thing, more a dig to me lol I live in the backwoods

@Anonymous0Gamer I see what you mean. The backwoods comment was more aimed at me, making fun on Tennessee lol. But yeah I get you, it's just I'm confused why this is what gets a reaction out of people. I've lost family to alcholism but I'm not complaining about the drunk game plays or in real life. Typically I'm the DD for my friends instead. I don't understand the mindset that watching someone do something else is affecting them and that would be the tipping point of deciding to watch or not watch content. Thanks for replying seriously tho, you have a good point.

With regards to the RTX London 'issues', I attended both days and had a great time. I have no idea how difficult it must be to put on a first year convention on that scale, with all of the RT fans in the UK, and probably half of Europe coming too. I agree there was a slight issue with the lack of seating for the centre stage (but I just stood in place for a few hours then went to see something else) and queuing for panels was a challenge (I got into Always Open by sheer luck of being in the right place at the right time, but no other panels), but my real problem was the other attendees acting very self righteous, pushing and imposing themselves on the guardians who were just trying to organise to their best effort (overheard one girl and her friend to a guardian who asked people to not queue until it was time for it "we didn't get into the last panel and we really want to get into this next one so we will just stand here and wait, even though you told us not to"). I think everyone working there did a great job and I hope people aren't complaining because they 'deserved' a seat or a meeting that was no way guaranteed.

I think the main problem I had with RTX was the fact that two conventions were happening at the exact same time at two ends of the hall, there were two very different kinds of people there and it sort of clashed I think.

Queuing for panels also messed things up a bit- despite there being an hour before hand rule, people were just lining up outside of the place to line up. I'd have to say next year definitely hire out the whole center if possible as again- it was very cramped.

And I think one of the things that basically was on my mind the ENTIRE con- I love myself some merch and trust me my bank account shows that. But selling merch at American prices just seemed like a scam to me honestly. The shirts on the UK store are £16-£18 (around $25) and at the con things were being sold at American prices but in pounds, essentially paying for shipping that wasn't there- and I've been to plenty of cons with RT stalls before and the prices have been the same £16-£18. It just kind of annoyed me.

but regardless I'm still going to pay the £50 for a weekend ticket next year because boy it was a pretty cool weekend.
