FALLOUT 4 vs WITCHER 3: Game of the Year? - #45

Dude Soup: FALLOUT 4 vs WITCHER 3: Game of the Year? - #45

Ohhhhhhh, buddy we had a great time on Dude Soup this week. Chad from Screw Attack joined us for a real zesty discussion about games, and games of the year, and game awards that games win, and which games should be considered for those awards.

Trust me: you're gonna want a sweatrag for this bad boy.

I'm not even sure which game I've played the most this year... Probably Destiny and Assassin's Creed Rogue, but out of the games that came out this year I'd say I've played around an equal amount of Black Ops III, Halo 5, and The Taken King, I've played a good amount of ESO also, my game of the year is between Halo 5 and ESO for sure (haven't played enough Witcher 3 or Fallout 4 to decide between those yet lol)

Man Lawrence's dislike of LoL over its "complexity" is hilarious.

That gameplay made me realize: the reason I hate Battlefront so much is that I consider it an actual competitive game. I treat it like I treat any other multiplayer game.

I bet if I only played this game while listening to something or talking to someone (not taking it as seriously) I might actually enjoy it.

I'm loving Adam's flashbacks to his virginity at the end

I'm with Chad in that I can't stand the idea of jumping into the middle of series. Especially one where choices carry over between games. I've started Witcher 1 but it's going to be a long time before I get to 3...

To be honest 1 is pretty much irrelevent.

I am so jealous of the new elite controller for Xbox One. I want button mapping so bad for the PS4. I don't know how many times I accidentally thrown a grenade at myself in other shooters outside of Destiny. Destiny screwed me up with having the RT as the melee attack.

While it's true that there's no subscription for Destiny, if you're from the original run it's a $130-140 investment so far for just the game. $60 for the base game, $20 for The Dark Below, $20 for the House of Wolves, $40 for The Taken King. The season pass saved $5 on the total, and The Digital Guardian edition for the first game was $90 which included the season pass, giving you the lowest price for the first iteration. Then there's the new TTK Digital Guardian Edition expansion for $20 for veteran players so you could spend upwards of $160 for everything, plus the new microtransactions (which is a completely different can of worms)

Edit: more or less you've spent ~$7 a month for 24 months (assuming next Sept they introduce an overhaul to the game again / release "Destiny 2") but it's in chunks instead of monthly.

Axiom Verge should win indie game of the year, still the most fun I have had all year in video games.

I'm sure they know, but it's Mirror's Edge Catalyst. Not Mirror's Edge 2

The movie you were thinking of, Adam, is called Prayer of the Rollerboys. I am mildly ashamed that I have a copy on DVD.
