Today we took a trip to the state fair after feeding the neighbours dog and, by extension, the fire ants that we didn't notice I was standing on until it was too late. In related news, my ankles are sore.
We headed out to the state fair and began our quest for deep fried food of many varieties and to look around and experience the fair.
After arriving and wandering around, I decided that the only thing I needed was a blooming onion. This was a great idea. Well, sort of. It was delicious, but a whole onion covered in batter, along is a bit of a monstrous undertaking.
Needless to say, I didn't manage to absorb the whole thing, maybe I consumed about half of it. The evening was riddled with oil, and next up on our foody adventure, once we'd taken a bit of a walk, was some deep fried Oreos and deep fried Reeses cups.
That photo was courtesy of miss Rachyrock. Then we wandered some more, having eaten just a ludicrous amount of bad good stuff, and saw all of the stalls. There were some things I really wanted to win, namely a rainbow coloured bear that was as big, or bigger than me. Or a big unicorn. Anything that was a big cuddly toy.
Then, the final piece in this delicious puzzle was waiting at a queued out funnel cake stall. So we got a funnel cake, half topped with cherries, and half topped with delicious cinnamon and applesauce apples.
Overall I enjoyed my first trip to the fair. Have an excellent day! You're all my favourites!
