My posts on here are sporadic at best but I've been missing this lovely community lately and thought I would reappear with a few updates on what I've been up to the past 6 months.
As the title suggests I've decided to accept that I'm an adult now and I've been adulting..hard. I made a decision that I didn't want to live in the south anymore and had a discussion with my boss on the subject. This discussion resulted in me being able to move back to the Midlands and work from home full time for the same company.
It's been a fantastic move and because of this I've been able to buy my very own house! I've been having some much fun decorating, gardening and general nesting. My neighbours are fab too. Never in my life did I think I would find a neighbourhood where you are actually friends with your neighbours but, this has happened.
Working from home is actually going really well. It seems to be quite common around here so there's always people about. I've not lost out on opportunities at work either as last month I was requested on a project that required travel to the Netherlands and I got a promotion which was nice.
Anyway the reason I'm posting this is because around 3 years ago when. I first joined the community I wasn't having a great time. I'd moved back home after my master's and was feeling the post-uni depression pretty bad. There are a lot of expectations when you leave uni that the real world just doesn't live up to and it can surprise you when that little uni bubble breaks.
This community really helped me though that and the people I've met on the site I still consider very close friends of mine. They've seen me though the rough patches and cheered me on in my success. I'm very thankful for this community and I hope it's still bringing awesome people together.
