After some years of hearing about folks lawfully making their own guns, I looked into it a bit last year. It seems there is an industry now to supply and support home gun making, and one aspect is the sale of "80%" firearm frame materials. I mentioned this as a New Year Resolution, and @Radius55 seemed interested, so I figured I'd talk about it here... "here" as in the Group forum for specific subjects rather than the main OCC Thread.
Making your own gun.
The laws are different state by state, so what is allowed by the feds may be illegal in your state or locality. It is up to the individual to determine what their local laws are (and obey them), so do not take anything you read here as advice on what the laws are where you live. However, if you do not have local laws prohibiting it, the feds allow you to build any gun you are allowed to own once its built. So no, you cant build a bazooka or machinegun unless you already have the fed paperwork to do so. It comes down to- If you are not denied by law from buying a gun, you can make it.
I started this thread not just to share my experiences with the project,
but to also hear if any of you guys have thought about doing one as well.
If anyone posts about doing something illegal, we will flag that post for removal by admin.
Dont incriminate yourself here, and dont say things that will get RT or me in trouble.
You can ask what is illegal, we can talk about how to do it differently within the law, but we will not be condoning anyones intent or attempts at breaking the law.
