I spent the day arguing with people on the internet about a subject that doesn't belong on the internet. A complete waste of time on the one hand, yet made me feel slightly better writing it down. And I got a couple positive responses, but mostly it was people attempting to "educate" me (or ridicule me) on a complicated topic that they themselves had little information on. In my work, I'm used to that reaction but it still makes me a little sad.

When Geoff and Gavin made that Let's Build where they joked about "games" they played with stalking and harassment, it was removed and Geoff apologized. I thought that meant that Rooster Teeth understood the problem. It seems they have a far way to go by letting that On The Spot be aired, and then keeping it up with only a little "this might be offensive" disclaimed. Why do I expect anything from them? Why am I writing this journal entry, again in a place no one will read? I come to Rooster Teeth for a bit of relief from the reality of the world, I guess I'm just bummed that I finally came to the realization that they make the same problems as anyone else.

      So.....
Not that I have enough friends or anybody who would actually read this journal entry, but, for some reason, people randomly end up in my profile once in a blue moon.
This entry is for those who love water polo (and are perhaps like me in that they are way too small to be playing it), and to those who know nothing about it. (Those are the two categories, nothing in between.) Here are the basics of water polo:

      1. At very simple basis it is like soccer in the water, except there are seven players on each team, including the goalies, and you use your hands, and you hurt eachother. A lot.
      2. There is a yellow ball. The yellow ball is not your friend. If you have the yellow ball, you are probably about to be hurt.
      3. There are six massive guys in speedos on the other team who want to hurt you. But you can't run away (you are in a frickin' pool). No, you have to fight them for the unfiendly yellow ball. And most likely get hurt.
      4. There are fouls. Don't get me wrong, you can't get away with everything, unless of course it is underwater, in which case you can do anything you want. You can probably picture that yourself. But if not, let me just say you get hurt.
      5. Put everything you got into your shots. Get your body out of the water and rifle it into the goal. If you don't make it, at least you might hurt their goalie.
      6. Don't ever give up on the ball if the guy who is defending against you is bigger. If you do, he will only drown you, steal the ball, and maybe score. That and your coach will kill you.
      7. Compensate for your weaknesses. Act bigger and stronger than you actually are. All this does of course is make you work harder. In the end you will get beaten by better players.
      8. The holeset is the guy in the center closest to the goal. He gets hurt more than you, so throw him the ball. He can either score, get your team a power play, or, you guessed it, get hurt.
      9. A good holeset could flatten, you but a really good goalie could eat you. And I'm sure you know what that means.
      10. And now for the corny part.... Water polo really is a fun game no matter how good, or bad, you are, even if you do get hurt. A lot.

And to finish it off here is a picture:

      Ohhh yeah.

Thank you so much for your comment on the Season Finale of On The Spot. When I heard that there was a rape joke goin on and on and someone I admired so highly had made it I went into a really bad anxiety attack- 3 hrs of just crying. I'm really tired of how the community wants to defend these scary "jokes" and seeing you speak up about it made my day by far.

Thank you so very very much smiley12.gif

Thank you for sharing that with me. This is exactly the response that the community and RT doesn't understand. I know nothing will change because of one comment on one video, but we have to try no? I'm glad I could provide that little bit of positive for you. Stay strong!

Thank you for telling me that. There aren't really many issues that would make me find my old account just to send a long comment into cyberspace but this was the one. I'm glad some people acknowledged it.
