I can't wait to buy an Xbox 360. My room is always cold and I need something to make it warm up and provide me with white noise.

WOAH BUDDY! @RTXLines is back for RTX Austin 2018!

Hypothetical Situation: Let's say you've been chillin' in the Expo Hall when it hits you that the Achievement Hunter Panel is about to start over at the Hilton. "Dang, I bet the line's already capped," you say out loud, drawing stares from the people around you. It'd be great if there was some way to check the status of the lines at all the panel rooms around RTX, right?

Well there is... and it's @RTXLines!

@RTXLines is the official RTX Twitter account that will keep you up to date on line happenings during the show! Are there empty seats for Dungeons & Dragons & Drunks panel? We got you. Has the line been capped for the RWBY panel in Exhibit Hall 1? We'll let you know.

2018 UPDATE - We'll be providing updates for the four ACC Security Checkpoints.

There are a few ways to use @RTXLines! First, you should know that text and data rates may apply (that's between you and your carrier). Second, you'll need to follow the account (duh). Then do the following:

      1) Setup Mobile App Alerts

Do you have the official Twitter app on your phone? Good. The easiest way to get alerts is through the app. Here's how you do that:

      1. Go to the @RTXLines Twitter profile
      2. If you're on a mobile phone, tap the bell icon next to the follow button. (Picture of what it looks like)
      3. Tap Account Notifications and select All Tweets
      4. If you are on a computer, click the dots icon next to the follow button, then click Turn on mobile notifications. (Picture)

      2) Setup SMS Text Alerts (Optional)

Large events can overwhelm local cell phone data networks making browsing and, in our case, delivery of line updates slow. FEAR NOT! You can have Twitter text you alerts over SMS, which uses the more reliable voice network. Here's how you do that:

      1. On your computer, click on your profile picture in the upper right hand of your profile page, then click Settings and Privacy. (Picture)
      2. Then, on the left hand side of the Settings page, click the Mobile link. (Picture)
      3. Type your number into the Phone Number box. Click Continue. (Picture)
      4. Twitter will text you a validation code. Type that validation code into the box provided. Click Activate phone. (Picture)
      5. Under Text Notifications, check the box next to Tweets from people you've enabled for mobile notifications.
      6. Click Save changes. (Picture)
      7. Make sure you are following RTX Lines and that mobile notifications are turned on for the account. (Picture)

That's it! We hope that you'll find @RTXLines helpful during the show! We'll see you at RTX!

We're taking @RTXLines across the pond to RTX London! Introducing @RTXQueues!

Hypothetical Situation: Let's say you've been chillin' in the Expo Hall when it hits you that the Achievement Hunter Panel is about to start in the Main Panel room. It'd be great if there was some way to check the status of the lines at all the panel rooms around RTX, right?

    • Goodbye Aaron

      mrarcys RTX Austin Head Guardian

Since former Guardians will not be able to see the post we made in this year's Guardian Group, I'll repost it here.

It is with heavy hearts that we pass on the news that Aaron Benek passed away yesterday morning.

      u4UHRBV.png

From the start, Aaron was an integral part of the Guardian Family since the 2012. He founded the Response team in 2013 as a Team Leader with @DWNLDBLCNTNT and was promoted to Satellite Lead over the JW Marriott in 2015. The last two years saw him out of his shirt attending to his new and growing family.

The world is just a little bit darker without his ever shining smile. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife and children.

UPDATE: In lieu of flowers, the family has requested any funds be donated through a GoFundMe page. Aaron leaves behind three boys and an unborn daughter. Any money you can donate would be appreciated.

You can find the GoFundMePage here.
